A professional woman has near death experience in an island tsunami, and upon returning to her life is haunted by what she remembers.

A boy looses his twin brother to a tragic accident and  struggles to deal with his death.

And a man who can connect with the spirits of those past but struggles with what the experience does to him, and to those he lets know of it.

All these people have death touch them in some way, what differs is how they deal with it. Can they find peace with who they are and their lives?

This was good, you hopped from one person to another, following the story of each, but it wasn’t hard to follow. One person’s story was mainly in french which meant you had to watch subtitles, not one of my favorite things, but still a good movie.

Drama / Western, Released in 2010, Starring Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Hailee Steinfeld

A tough and grizzled U.S. Marshal takes on a bounty offered by a bright young woman to  track down and bring in her father’s murderer. Along the way they encounter and team up with a Texas Ranger after the same man for another crime.

A remake of an old John Wayne film with the same title, I didn’t expect much of the movie, as I rarely enjoy remakes as much as the original film. This one was different, As much as I love John Wayne, this was excellently done, and  Hailee Steinfled did a much better job of Mattie than Kim Darby.

I really enjoyed this. The beginning was a little odd, but it soon made more sense, very intriguing and thought provoking.

Drama, release in 1998, starring Robin Williams, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck

Will Hunting is a janitor at MIT, when he solves a complex math problem left on a blackboard for students he comes to the attention of the instructor. In trying to get Will to reach his full potential the instructor makes a deal with the judge who is about to sentence Will for assaulting an officer. In order to stay out of jail Will has to see a psychologist, and work with the instructor. But can they reach him before it’s too late?

I have seen this several times, it is one of my favorites. I hadn’t seen it in quite a while and I had forgotten how well that Damon and Williams interacted. I recommend this film.

Drama, Released in 2009, starring Morgan Freeman, Matt Damon, Tony Kgoroge

Based on real life events, about what happened in South Africa at the end of apartheid when president Nelson Mandela  used the 1995 Rugby World Cup to unite the people of his country.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie was. I’m not typically a fan of sports movies, but this was about far more than just the sport it was a very good, very engaging film.
