Time for the annual inlaw holiday… they have chosen Easter… works for me, Easter was never big with my family, and I really don’t mind losing it. This is a fairly new tradition, only on year 2 and again, at least one of the siblings will be absent… at least we make the effort every year to show up, so they can’t claim we are ruining things.
This is the second year in a row that Hubby has gotten sick just before leaving.. and I don’t mean a cold, I mean puking up your small intestines and shitting the rest. This year he was sick a little earlier than last year, by time to leave for the 12 hr car trip, he is feeling fine… but he has passed it on to me. *I* got to spend all the night before leaving in the bathroom… unlike him, what little sleep I got was on the couch, so that I didn’ t infect him with the death disease. So, this morning, we load up the truck and get on the road… All 3 kids seem fine. Thank God, I can’t imagine this trip with 3 sick kids, that would be a new definition to hell, not just misery.
So far we are 8 hours into the drive, and stopped for the night, since I REFUSE to make the trip on one run anymore, Hubby is getting to old to make an all nighter like that and it terrifies me. Plus, he has this resteraunt that he just HAS to eat at every time he passes it… I could live without it… but he has even taught the kids to love it … <sigh> thankfully we only pass it once or twice a year.
Now I just have to endure the week with the in laws… who after 11 years still treat me like an unwelcome guest in the family… Fun Shit… NOT.
