To my two-year-old

Dear Son,

The first one or two times you pulled your diaper off was cute. Having to put your diaper back on you 4-8 times at bedtime and nap time is way past old. I know you are not ready to potty train,  you just aren’t. If you were, I would do so and be done with the stupid diapers forever. Until you are, can you please refrain from the constant stripping act? Please?

While we are having this talk, let’s discuss hanging on me in resteraunts. I realize you love me, and I love you too,  but you don’t have to constantly hang on me to make your father jealous, it really doesn’t work, and makes it difficult for me to eat. Let’s, please, remember to wait till we are not eating to hang all over mommy.

Happy Anniversary

today was my, and hubby’s, eleventh wedding anniversary. We really had a pretty good day. The kids were good, hubby had to go to work but he was able to surprise me by getting off early and taking us all out to dinner.

cleaning…

and cleaning and cleaning, that is how we spent our day. I am talking MAJOR cleaning. moving couches and cleaning in and under them, moving all the things on the counter top and wiping down behind them and all.

And OMG the mopping. I must have mopped 8 times, I mopped until the mop didn’t come up dirty. Mind you, I have tile floors… in the desert. it is NEVER completely clean.

I am so ready for it to be bed time so I can have the relative peace of no running or screaming kids.

Library Day

took the girls to the library this morning, and got us library cards and a few books each, I managed to find 2 on my wish list YAY!! My 8 year old found a couple of Nancy Drew Graphic Novels, and Ella Enchanted. And my 6 year old found 3 pretty easy readers, just at her level.

I plan on making the library trip a once  a week outing, hopefully Saturday mornings, that way, if hubby has to work, we can still go before he leaves, and on Saturdays, we can continue that after school starts again, without having to drag along a loud, hyperactive, wild child, also known as my 2 year old.

*I* may have to take a mini trip back before I take the girls back, I only got 2 books, and I am halfway through the first already!

3 more days

till my wedding anniversary, this one marks eleven years. Hubby has to work his usual evening shift, so I am not sure what I am going to do yet. Maybe have something ready when he gets home… or before he goes to work… I would really love to do something with the kids, and something without… but I just have no ideas… Help?

Brain 1, heat from hell, 0

I won this round. The heat around here makes your steering wheel so hot it will give you third degree burns… sure, I could spend the money to buy a steering wheel cover, but um… why? when I can make one?? and one that will be exactly the color I want!! so Here is the cover i made for Hubby’s car, the one for my truck is still on the needles.

I have noticed

a direct correlation between sexual satisfaction and my mood… coincidence?? I think not.

Hubby brought me home

a filing cabinet. a tall, 5 drawer, metal jobbie. it is perfect for what I needed, it sits in the corner that I had to move my desk from because of the water leak, and gives me a platform for my printer, while at the same time, providing tons of storage to help with the overload that is my desk top. We got the truck unloaded this morning. I cleaned up the computer area and moved in the cabinet this afternoon, and I have spent the evening working on cleaning off my desk. There is a chore. I am not sure why everything in the house has to spend at least some time living on my desk, but it does.

If the girls are unsure what to do with something while cleaning up, they dump it on my desk. If they don’t want to walk down the hall to put it in their room, they dump it on my desk. So I regularly have to go through with the trash can and a front loader to clean the thing off. I am not done yet, but I can see desk surface!! and I did manage to finish the first of two steering wheel covers, one for each car. Now I can cast on for the other.

Sleep? who needs sleep?

4 hrs is all the sleep I got last night. My 2 year old woke up at 10:30 crying. nothing would make him content but laying on my bed next to me. so we laid there and i read for a while. he dozed but never actually fell asleep, till at 12:45 he sat up and puked. So, 1am I am cleaning a 2 year old and changing the sheets on my bed. lay back down… he finally falls asleep. I get to sleep about 3 am. he woke up at 5, fussy and whiny and I just laid there with him. At 6 I heard my oldest daughter, who is 8,  get up, and I asked her to take him, watch cartoons with him, I only got 2 hrs sleep, let me get some rest (she is really good about watching him in the mornings, when all he wants to do is sit and watch tv anyway) so I was able to sleep till almost 8….

I am drained. and Hubby will be home this afternoon. The girls are working on cleaning up some, but I am not going to be up for a huge cleaning thing. Plus, the baby is still whiny and clingy.

that I have a book problem. My Paperbackswap wish list… it has now reached unbelievable perportions, it is now 100 books long. Granted, most of the books on it are not released yet, but still. *hides*
